Hi, my name is Paul Quirk and I’m a photographer who loves photographing people. I mainly work in the area defined by the OX and HP post codes, so Oxford, Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Hemel Hempstead and all the surrounding areas within the counties.
I’ve been a photographer since my late ‘teens and over the decades have worked out my favourite subjects are people. My life experience has given me a profound appreciation for the miracle of children, especially babies. They are a precious gift to those of us who have them. They also grow and change so quickly in those early weeks, months and years. I think it’s because of this appreciation that the field of newborn, maternity and family photography most ignites my passion and I think that comes out in the images I’m able to create.
I joined up with Photography for Little People because I think the goal of creating timeless images is a good one. In an age when the selfie and quick snap is the norm, it is my role to capture images of a quality and style which cannot be achieved with the camera in a phone. I am able to offer a range of framed and canvas wall formats to display these photographs as the pieces of fine art they are and which become items to treasure.
The best age for newborn photographs is between 3 and 10 days after birth because while this young babies still tend to be curled up, sleepier and easier to pose. Because I am mobile I can come to your home and set up a mini photography studio. This takes the pressure off you when you are in the midst of such a busy time and provides the most relaxed environment in your own family space.
A typical newborn session lasts between 2 and 3 hours. The session will be very relaxed and informal, working at your baby’s pace with plenty of time for feeding, changing, soothing and cuddling. I will bring various props with me and can also use any you wish to include.
Safety is always a concern but even more so when working with newborns. My knowledge of how to safely take photographs which will look charming is an important asset.
I will take a number of photographs of children, family or newborns and the images are available for viewing on my laptop towards the end of the session. There is never any obligation for you to buy. If you do choose to buy then we will create stunning, beautiful pieces for your home which you will be proud to display. I will bring examples of the various canvases and frames we offer so you never need to be in doubt about what it is you are investing in.
I am also able to offer cast impressions of hands and feet which capture every line or crease of precious hand and feet to provide a unique and lasting memory. These can be packaged on their own or in combination with one or more photographs and are very popular items.
In case you’d like to know a little more about me, I’m a Dad to two and proud Grandad to four wonderful grandchildren.
I am fully insured and hold a current enhanced DBS certificate and am a member of the Society for Wedding and Portrait Photographers.
