It is still very early on in the New Year, so I think it’s still OK to talk about resolutions, I’ve made some this year that I am determined to stick to. I figure by keeping it to just three then I can concentrate on sticking well to a few rather than breaking a few too many… (Kilimanjaro will just have to wait this year)!
1 – Exercise More
It’s true what they say ‘a healthy body leads to a healthy mind’. I find exercise keeps me focused, it gives me more energy and it makes me feel good. I’ve ran the Brighton marathon in the past and this year I want to get back into running and feel fit and focused especially with a big birthday on the not so distant horizon!
2 – Spend More Time with Friends and Family
The past couple of years I’ve been in a new baby and then a new business bubble. Now my son is almost 2 and I’m approaching my one year birthday with the business, I’ve come up for air and realise that as well as helping create precious memories for my clients, I need to make sure I don’t forgo my own. I want to ensure I use my spare time wisely. 2018 is going to be a very exciting year all round and I want to be there living in the moment, having fun and making lasting memories with the people I hold closest.
3 – Take more photos
Taking photos of your families and seeing the joy the finished product brings when I deliver it to your door constantly reminds me why I am lucky to do this job and why I enjoy it so much. From photographing precious newborns peacefully posing; to the look of awe a sibling gives as they wrap their arms carefully around their new baby sister or brother; or a mother-to-be posing proudly and in anticipation of meeting their soon to be born baby. All amazing moments to witness and record and I want to meet as many of you as possible this year and photograph more priceless memories like these for you to have forever in your home.
If you are expectant parents then you are in for an incredible ride this year, so here is to an amazing 2018! Happy New Year, Gareth
